Effects of Titanium Dioxide Nanoparticles and Coenzyme Q10 on Testicular Ischemia-Reperfusion Injury: Role of the Mitochondrial Apoptosis Pathway

Background: Testicular ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury is a urological emergency that can lead to male infertility. So far, no suitable treatment has been found for it. Therefore, in the present study, we investigate therapeutic effects of concomitant administration coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) and titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2-NPs) on testicular I/R damage rats expressions genes involved mitochondrial apoptosis, miR-21, circRNA0001518. Materials Methods: In this after induction torsion/detorsion, CoQ10 TiO2-NPs were administered ten days. Then, sperm extracted from epididymides analyzed concentration, viability, morphology, motility. The amount apoptosis cells was studied by flow cytometry. Also, Bax Bcl-2 genes, as well miR-21 circRNA0001518 levels evaluated. Results: Sperm parameters improved rats’ received CoQ10. Administration healthy increased Bax/Bcl-2 expression ratio. However, its alone or combination with caused decrease ratio, an increase expressions. Conclusion: Overall, individual joint have altering apoptotic pathway their regulatory elements.
